Origin of CB Radio
The citizen’s band radio service began as one of the numerous personal radio services regulated by the Federal Communications Commission in the United States. The Citizens Radio Service was established in the 1940s to regulate remote-control devices and mobile radio telephones. After that in 1945, these services were established to provide residents with a radio band for personal communication. The first CB radios were built for use on the 460–470 MHz UHF band in 1948.
